Wild Turkey releases Master's Keep Revival

The third expression of the award-winning premium series of Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbons has been released

Following the first two special bottlings already released, Master Distiller of the Lawrenceburg, KY-based Wild Turkey distillery, Eddie Russell, now presented the eagerly awaited third edition of the award-winning Master's Keep series. Master's Keep Revival, that's the name. Eddie was inspired by the limited Wild Turkey Sherry Signature – a whiskey finished in an Oloroso sherry cask created by his father Jimmy in the early 2000’s.

Buddha of Bourbon

Eddie's "revival" of Sherry Signature was the impetus for the name and is a fitting homage to the father and son distilling duo. Eddie is the younger son of Bourbon legend Jimmy Russel, the world's oldest active Master Distiller. James C. "Jimmy" Russell, dubbed the "Buddha of Bourbon" and "The Master Distiller's Master Distiller" by his industry colleagues, has been producing whiskey in the Wild Turkey distillery for over 60 years. In 2015 Eddie, who has been with Wild Turkey for 35 years, was named his successor. One year earlier on the occasion of his father's 60th anniversary, Eddie created Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary, a limited bottling of 13- and 16-year-old whiskeys. Together, the dynamic duo has 101 years of whiskey experience. Still at the age of 83, Jimmy, who has won numerous prizes and titles, is not yet ready to retire.

Master's Keep Revival

With the Master's Keep premium series, Eddie has pushed the boundaries on the age limits of Bourbon and produced some of the oldest whiskeys ever released by Wild Turkey. The new bottling follows the introduction of the 17-year-old Master's Keep in 2015 and Master's Keep Decades in 2017, which contains Bourbon from 10- to 20-year-old barrels. Made from a blend of 12-15-year-old whiskeys and finished in old Oloroso sherry casks, Master's Keep Revival is a 101 proof (50.5% abv) Kentucky Straight Bourbon with which Eddie proudly honors his father's 64th anniversary at Wild Turkey. For him it was important to use sherry casks that were at least 20 years old adding a richer taste with stronger fruity notes to the Bourbon.

Full-bodied and long-lasting

With aromas of cherry pie, raisins, citrus and nuts in the nose, as well as soft, creamy notes of spices and sweet tropical fruits on the palate, a long-lasting finish of honey, spice and dried apricots completes this Bourbon treat. Wild Turkey Master's Keep Revival is limited to 1,600 cases and available for a limited time on site at the Visitor Center in Lawrenceburg.
