A new two years older single malt replaces the previous 10 Year Old standard bottling at Tamdhu

Attention fans of Sherry cask matured whiskies! Announced in mid-July and now available in our shop: the new Tamdhu 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Casks. As usual with Tamdhu, this single malt is matured exclusively in Spanish Sherry casks from Jerez. These are made of European and American oak and are essential for the taste and colour of Tamdhu. The new 12 Year Old single malt will replace the 10 Year Old Tamdhu Sherry Cask as the future standard bottling.

Drinking strength and no chill-filtration

Like all bottles from the distillery owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, the 12 Year Old's elegant facet design is an immediate eye-catcher of the Victorian era. The packaging has been redesigned and appears valuable and stable. The new single malt is bottled at 43% abv and neither coloured nor chill-filtered. A white label on the bottle indicates drinking strength, whereas a black label – as with Tamdhu Batch Strength 003 – indicates cask strength.

Complex and velvety

The German brand Ambassador for Tamdhu, Thorsten Manus, attests the new expression a typical sherry aroma with cinnamon and candied oranges. On the palate there is an explosion of complex notes of sherry, dark fruit, caramel, crème brûlée and roasted almonds, resulting in a long finish and leaving a pleasantly velvety mouthfeel.
