The historic Boynsmill House is to be extensively restored

Brown-Forman recently unveiled a multi-million investment package for the Glendronach Distillery. A new visitor centre is to be built by 2026, just in time for the 200th anniversary of the distillery founded by James Allardice.

Glendronach only renovated the existing visitor centre in 2020 and invested around £30 million in the expansion of production in 2022.

The company is now planning to restore the historic Boynsmill House to create luxurious guest accommodation. In addition, an old warehouse will be converted into a visitor centre to meet the increasing demand for tours and tastings at Glendronach. The entrance area and outdoor facilities are also being remodelled. For example, a larger visitor car park will be built. The existing buildings and the historic courtyard will be retained, Brown-Forman emphasises in the press release.

Jennifer Proctor, Head of European Homeplaces at Brown-Forman, said: ”We’re very proud to be custodians of such a historic and revered Single Malt at The Glendronach. This significant investment in the long-term future of the distillery will enable us to continue to preserve almost 200 years of rich heritage whilst ensuring we can meet the increasing demand in visitors for The Glendronach at home and around the world.”
