The limited edition was created in collaboration with the organisation Parley for the Oceans.

In October 2020, Talisker announced the start of its collaboration with the marine protection organisation Parley for the Oceans (we reported). As part of this joint venture, a whisky has now been released: The limited edition Talisker x Parley is currently also available here at Whisky.de.

It is the first Talisker edition whose bottle was produced from 100% recycled glass. Labels have been avoided as far as possible, instead the bottles have been given a ceramic design. It depicts undulating ocean waves and topographical lines, oriented towards Skye's coastline. Ther's also no packaging box, the Talisker x Parley was instead equipped with a bottle neck tag made of recycled paper. In this way, the carbon emissions from the production of the bottles and other materials used, which lead to the greenhouse effect that also damages the sea, were reduced by a total of 77%, Diageo explains in the press release.

Diageo is donating £3 for every bottle to Parley for the Oceans. The press release speaks of a total sum of more than half a million pounds, from which a number of bottles of at least 166,000 bottles can be deduced.

This is the first Talisker whisky that was finished in ex-Cognac casks made of French oak. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the duration of the maturation of the Talisker x Parley. Whisky author Charles McLean commented on the aroma as follows: “A rich, complex and tightly integrated aroma and a taste which is pure Talisker, with added dried fruitiness."
