Released as a limited edition the 8 years old Lagavulin will be part of the core range in future

Lagavulin 8 Years Old was launched in spring 2016 as a special release on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Islay distillery. In these days news can be read in internet magazines and blogs that Diageo decided to add this young edition to its constantly availably core range products. Already in the next days this new version of the Lagavulin 8 YO is said to enter the UK market. As the limited edition this release will present 48% ABV.

The Lagavulin 8 Years Old was released as an hommage to the famous whisky author Alfred Barnard who tasted an eight years old Lagavulin in the 19th century during one of his voyages. He was very thrilled by it. For the maturation of the Lagavulin 8 YO refill casks from American oak are used. We reported here about it when it was launched.

The limited edition is still available in many shops and information in which European countries the new constantly available edition will be sold and for what price hasn’t reached us yet.
