Benriach 13 Years Maderensis Fumosus
This is in the Benriach series of heavily peated malts with different cask finishing and all are very limited production. All of the different types of bottles in this series are out of production. The Maderensis Fumosus was finished in Madeira wine casks from Henriques and Henriques. The first bottling in July 2008 was limited to 2,400 bottles. This bottling is November 2012 with unknown number of bottles.
Nose: Heavy peat smoke, fruits
Taste: Smoke, citus, spices and sweetness
Finish: Long with oak and smoke
