Glenfarclas 25 Years
One of the oldest bottlings in Glenfarclas's standard range. A very complex 25-year-old malt that shows a lot of dryness and oak notes but is not dominated by sheer sherry influence.

Taste: and the carries over from the nose
Finish: a cooling element and an ever-so-slight that one really has to wait for
Comment: The Glenfarclas 25-year old presents several dimensions of sweetness on the nose. Fruit, sugar/honey, traditional sherry influences - all distinctly present. A soft, earthy floral scent is barely present as a background scent, but merges perfectly with this whisky's complex sweetness.
Absolutely no alcohol bite whatsoever. "Flatter" is an apt adjective, unfortunately. The soft earthy influences hinted at on the nose take over through the finish, as opposed to the shining fruit-forward first impressions this whisky offers. A worth-waiting -for and much-needed sweetness appears at the farthest extent of the finish, saving the flavor profile from falling short of its olfactory promise.
The strength of this whisky is its subtle, contradictory influences that stand in the background of both the nose and the flavor profile, waiting to be discovered.
