Nosing:
Lots of fruit, orange and pineapple, a little spiciness showing through
Taste:
Intense sweet arrival, fresh tropical fruit, apples, sweet pastry spices. Viscous mouthfeel, buttery
Finish:
Long and spicy, lots of active oak showing here, gets peppery but doesn't dry out too much.
Comment:
I've had a previous release of the first fill oak Nadurra before and I remember enjoying that one. Same applies here too, I can see looking back that my notes for this are fairly similar, so not much change, although I think the nose is more pronounced here. There's a definite youthfulness about it, especially in the finish where all that active oak cask comes through. However with a good whack of water (and it can take a lot) it is a pretty good showing (especially for the price).
