Taste: Wow--- Honey sherry and very light smoke/ham up front , lime as the taste develops... this is very nice.... complex flavors, little heat, and very approachable. Nice oily coating on the palate helps the honeyed flavors persist. To me, this is a grown-up, refined dalwhinnie.
Finish: long and gentle... very nice yet subtle finish. the finish is discreet, but good!
Comment:This is a solid dram, wish it was more available in the US..... I will be stocking up on this one, and it will be a good introduction to anyone who is new to single malts. Very easy to drink, yet complex and fun. The first scotch that I tried was dalwhinnie, which I liked because it was sweet and not overpowering. This is like dalwhinnies older, much more developed sister! I bought this bottle because of online reviews and the great rating here, and must say that it is one of the best single malts my young palate has tasted! Amazing.
