All tasting notes
Fantastic nose straight away can get the sherry cask, back burn of that is a peppery spice, very pleasant on the nose to begin with especially when first opened, does lack intensity than that of 46% whisky carries but overall very nice smell.
Taste:
First is the burn of the pepper you feel in the back of your tongue, then the glaze of the orange covers the roof and sides of the mouth then the haze of sherry coats the entire mouth giving you a satisfied feel.
Finish:
Lovely overall finish to a dram of this, the sherry is the more overwhelming infusion in this mix but compliments the pepper really well, the spice is a nutmeg with a slight lean towards cinnamon, overall the taste lasts about 40-60 seconds and does leave you satisfied but the desire for more afterwards.
Comment:
I do enjoy this whisky, as a medium priced whisky it delivers in taste and color, its finish lacks the body that over whiskys in the 46% abv range do but overall is a well balanced malt delivering in notes that will satisfy a beginner to tasting such as myself.
