@wallacema
this is very delicious. I wonder how the 18 goes up against this.
@hwchoy
Yes it is delicious and easy to drink. You would demand more after having the first sip of it. But on the other hand, I think this one lack of character.
I haven't try the 18 years old, but I found it double the price of the 15 years old one. I guess the 18 y.o. one will be more sherry and oily?
I've already done that with my Auchentoshan 17 yo 1999 from Cadenhead's. I was about to put it on its designated place when I suddenly decided to pop the cork and make it my 'summer whisky 2017'. That Caol Ila, however, will be kept for very special occasions. Too expensive for an everydays dram...
Cheers!

I have an 18 but yet to open it. thinking now should it be scheduled for the next opened bottles.
@SlàinteMhath
How is Auchentoshan taste?
Haha, I am just a beginner in whisky tasting and a 30 y.o. whisky is too expensive to me either.
@hwchoy
Seems that you have stock up a lot.
@wallacema
according to my records I have 34 unopened bottles but I am not sure how many I will actually get to drink
@hwchoy
OMG. You are a real collector.
Which bottle is for collection only and you will definitely not to open?
'Real' collectors have hundreds if not thousands of bottles in their collection. I am not one of them. Whiskies are meant to be drunk, not to collect dust on a shelf.

@wallacema
no no I am not collecting. they are my stash for giving to customers when necessary. but some I would be tempted to drink myself hahah.
only two bottles are meant to be kept for daughter to drink when she grows up. one is a Laphroaig 21 Friends of Laphroaig, she opens that when she's 21. then she was born in 2015 during Singapore's 50th Anniversary, Dalmore released a special SG50 Pioneer Edition bottling and I even managed to obtain a copy signed by Richard Paterson, this one she will open when she's 50, during Singapore's 100th Anniversary. If I try very hard I might just make it
Talk about long term planning.
