Hi All,
We are off back to Scotland, to Glencoe tomorrow, for a few nights. We will be calling in at the following distilleries, some of which we have visited and sampled, but just wondered if there were any special bottles you would be looking for if yiu were going?
Deanston
Blair Atholl
Edradour
Dalwhinnie
Oban
Tobermorey
Aberfeldy
Glenturret
Whisky Galore at the GreenWelly Stop at Tyndrum
Glengoyne
Auchentoshan
Any advice will be most readily received
@Suzanne1967
I'd probably check for some older Ledaig's if you like peated whiskies. Visiting Isle of Mull is certainly interesting. I wish you a nice trip and many good drams!

@SlàinteMhath
Thanks, got the 18YO, 19 1/2YO SE and the 10YO Ledaig and a 10YO Tobermory, all excellent drams!
Back home now, with another haul of 25 bottles.... think we will have to slow down the buying now, running out of room! Highlights include a 25YO and 21YO Glengoyne, a 21YO Aberfeldy, Ledaig 18YO and 19 1/2YO, a brace of Wolfburn's (Aurora and Standard), an 18YO The Deveron, Deanston 18YO and Organic, and a few others, including some from the Flora and Fauna range that we haven't yet tried!
The autumnal scenery was stunning, the Hotel a good one, and the Distillery Visits were all good... Only disappointment was Auchentoshan, our final stop, there was no tour at the time we arrived and a few minutes later the shop was maxed out, the 2 bottles we were looking for - from their website, the 21YO Silver Oak and the 18YO Bordeaux Cask - weren't on the shelf and the one person in the shop was overwhelmed with a busload of visitors, so wasn't able to spend any time with us... Hopefully this will be better next time we visit, I still have a soft spot for Auchentoshan as it was the first Distillery we toured, and the first one we tried something a bit different from.
@Suzanne1967
That is quite a haul. I am envious!
@Carlton Thanks hon, it was fun.... running out of room in the Whisky cabinet now though... going to have to get some dramming done before the next trip to Scotland.. planned for Summer 2017 - to the Highlands, Orkney and perhaps Speyside.....
I'd like to see the faces of Norwegian customs officers, if I'd return with a load of 25 bottles in my baggage... Even with horrendous $30 additional alcohol tax per bottle (1 bottle is free), I'd not be allowed to bring more than 6 bottles per person. Anything above 60% ABV is considered equal to smuggling drugs/narcotics into the country - so no Aberlour A'bunadh and other cask strength malts with higher ABV for us...
Enjoy your malts!

@SlàinteMhath Youch 30E surcharge per bottle!!! Ye Gods!! I know our tax is bad, but youch and youch again, I can feel your pain!
Guess I shouldn't feel so bad. I live just outside Nashville, Tennessee and have to contend with draconian alcohol laws, but that amount of tax is unreal!
@Suzanne1967 that is unreal, i live in scotland and haven't visited that many lol, i lovew edradour how was that one, need to get back there love there caledonia 12 year old
